Bergsoom - Seriously fresh citrus
Bergsoom is a family farm with decades of experience behind the fresh citrus that customers enjoy today. Founded by George McGregor in 1946 and farmed from the 90s by his daughter, Margaret Ann McGregor, Bergsoom Farm now benefits from a third generation’s involvement, and has over the years expanded with new orchards planted and new varieties introduced.
Today, the farm produces nine varieties of juicy citrus fruit – like grapefruit, blood oranges, navel oranges, Valencias, and mandarin types such as Nadorcott, Mor, and a few trees of naartjies and minneolas. There’s also rooibos tea harvested in the summer months. Caring for the natural environment by minimising herbicide and pesticide use, Bergsoom also advocates for the power of women in agriculture, and the establishment of value systems on farms and food security in South Africa.
