Eureka Mills - Much more than flour

Starting more than two decades ago as a rudimentary flour mill in a shed, Eureka Mills has grown with the demand for healthy, unbleached flour. The two local farmers who founded the business with that mill intended to bring added value to the wheat that they were producing on their own property, but as a receptive market called for more of this goodness, they’ve expanded to take in wheat from other farmers in the district – all of it of the highest quality, and free from GMOs and glyphosate.

For Nico Steyn, Eureka Mills Miller and General Manager for more than 21 years, the intention of the business is to create an established, health- and value-based bread and flour culture in South Africa. That means that customer education is key: the business aims to create awareness around the health benefits of enjoying flour that’s unbleached and stoneground as a starting point for wholesome cooking and baking. This family business now also produces a selection of must-try rusks and cookies, while their flour range remains their top seller and is distributed countrywide – demonstrating that South Africans are hungry for the wholesome, stoneground goodness that Eureka Mills has to offer.
